Glassroots expands accessibility to recycling through education, outreach, and the creative reuse of traditional waste.

We are reimagining recycling as an inclusive movement to build community and benefit our planet.

Our Impact

According to the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality, in 2018, only 107 tons of glass were recycled across the entire state. In just our first year of operations, Glass Half Full has already diverted over 300 tons of glass from landfills. With your support, Glassroots will build on this progress by investing in people, machinery, and our local community to recycle even more glass and transform our broken recycling system. Louisiana trails the rest of the country and the world in recycling. Forget catching up, it’s time we show the world that we can be a leader in sustainability.

Expanding Accessibility

We started Glassroots to ensure that those who want to recycle CAN. We want recycling to be an accessible and transparent process that you are proud to be a part of.

Education & Outreach

Growing a community of recyclers starts with students! We partner with local schools and organizations in New Orleans to educate students on why it is important to recycle and how to properly do it.

“We founded Glassroots to radically transform our broken recycling system — lifting Louisiana up to become a leader in sustainability.”
